Reel Vets, Real Heroes!

The Reel Vets program provides local, qualifying wounded veterans with fly fishing adventures.

Our annual escape for wounded veterans. The event is hosted by the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) and organized in partnership with the Reno Vet Center,  Our volunteers come to us through our relationships with local fly fishing clubs, the Reno/Tahoe chapter of Project Healing Waters, and NDOW. The event is privately funded. The escape is usually held at Hobart Reservoir in the Spooner Backcountry in cooperation with Nevada State Parks and the Marlette Lake Water System. 

Due to Hobart being closed for dam repairs in 2026, we are planning on holding the event at a private reservoir regularly stocked with trophy-sized Eagle Lake rainbow trout!
